Terms of Service

By creating an account or using any part of Ascend, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use Ascend.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notice. Your continued use of Ascend after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Ascend is a self-improvement platform for teenagers and young adults. It provides:

• A free library of guides and articles covering gym, looks, nutrition, lifestyle, and fashion.
• AI-generated personalised self-improvement plans powered by the Claude API.
• An AI coach chat feature for guidance on your plans.
• A community space for discussion and sharing progress.
• Premium features including all 5 AI plans, unlimited regeneration, PDF downloads, and priority support.

Content on Ascend is for informational and motivational purposes only. It does not constitute medical, nutritional, psychological, or professional advice. Always consult a qualified professional before making significant changes to your health or lifestyle.

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
• Keep your password confidential and not share account access with others.
• Notify us immediately at legal@myascendhq.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
• Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• Not create more than one account per person.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Ascend is intended for users aged 13 and older. If you are under 13, you may not create an account or use Ascend.

If you are between 13 and 17 years old, you must have the permission of a parent or legal guardian to use Ascend, and your parent or guardian must agree to these Terms on your behalf. By using Ascend as a minor, you represent that your parent or guardian has reviewed and consented to these Terms.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we become aware that a user is under 13, we will immediately delete their account and data.

Ascend offers a free tier and a Premium subscription:

• All payments are processed securely by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
• Prices are listed in USD and may be subject to applicable taxes depending on your jurisdiction.
• We reserve the right to change pricing at any time. Existing subscribers will be notified at least 30 days before a price change takes effect.
• You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

All sales are final. We do not offer refunds on digital subscription payments, except where required by applicable law. If you cancel your subscription, you retain access to Premium features until the end of your current billing period.

If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at legal@myascendhq.com within 14 days of the charge and we will investigate.

You agree not to use Ascend to:

• Post, share, or transmit any content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.
• Harass, bully, or intimidate other users.
• Spam, solicit, or advertise products or services without our written permission.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts or our systems.
• Scrape, crawl, or harvest any content or data from Ascend without express permission.
• Use the AI features to generate harmful, abusive, or illegal content.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
• Use Ascend in any way that could disable, overburden, or impair our infrastructure.
• Circumvent any access controls, paywalls, or subscription restrictions.

Violations may result in immediate account suspension or termination without refund.

All content on Ascend — including but not limited to library articles, AI-generated plans, text, graphics, logos, and software — is the property of Ascend or its content suppliers and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use Ascend's content for your personal, non-commercial use only. You may not:

• Reproduce, distribute, or publicly display any Ascend content without written permission.
• Use Ascend content for commercial purposes.
• Remove any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices.

Content you post in community spaces remains yours. By posting, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to display and distribute that content within the platform.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ascend and its operators, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or personal injury.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of Ascend shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or €100, whichever is greater.

Ascend is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Portugal, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Ascend shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Portugal.

If you are a consumer in the EU, you also have the right to seek resolution through the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/odr.

You may stop using Ascend and delete your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms, with or without notice.

Upon termination, your right to use Ascend ceases immediately. Sections covering intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law survive termination.
